Development initiatives can use local resources to produce goods or services through entrepreneurial schemes. The revenue thus generated can be reinvested in their own community or in the initiatives to them directed.
Some Initiatives support such schemes by setting local alternative barter systems. These aim to strengthen the local economy to benefit present and future generations, as well as the initiative’s self-sustainability.
